Privacy Policy

What data we collect
None. PDF Toolkit does not have a server component that receives, stores, or processes your PDF files or their contents. When you merge, split, or compress a file, the extension reads it directly from your computer, processes it locally using in-browser code, and saves the result back to your computer. At no point does a copy of your file leave your device.
Payment information
If you choose to purchase the Pro upgrade, payment is processed by ExtensionPay, using Stripe as the underlying payment processor. We do not see, receive, or store your card details or billing information — that data is handled entirely by Stripe in accordance with their own privacy policy and PCI-DSS compliance standards. We only receive confirmation of whether your account is marked as "paid," which is used to unlock Pro features within the extension.
Permissions this extension requests, and why
- storage — used only to remember whether you've purchased Pro, so the extension doesn't need to re-verify this on every use.
- downloads — used to save the PDF file the extension produces to your computer, and to reveal it in your file explorer once it's ready.
- Content script on all pages — required by our payment provider (ExtensionPay) to relay purchase-confirmation messages between their checkout page and the extension. This script does not read, collect, or modify the content of any page you visit.
Third parties
We do not sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties. The only external service involved is ExtensionPay/Stripe, solely for processing optional Pro purchases, as described above.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
